Blenheim Palace Junior Regatta, the second of two annual events run by Hinksey Sculling School, took place on Saturday 9th June this year with fantastic weather in a stunning setting!
A successful weekend for Hinksey at the high point of the junior racing calendar.
It was a busy bank holiday for HSS, with the Junior Sculling Regatta and Wallingford Regatta marking the start of the regatta season. These two events were the first test for newly formed crews after a productive rowing camp in Bellecin over the Easter break.
Schools' Head and Oarsport Junior Sculling Head took place on Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th March. With two top ten placings in each race, it was a great way to move into Regatta season!

On 4th February 2018, 600 athletes from 24 clubs and schools competed at the Hinksey-run South of England Indoor Rowing Championships. 49 of those athletes were Hinksey's own, racing in J12-J18 individual and team events - with the MJ17+ team breaking the SEIRC record for their event. The event was assisted greatly by over thirty Hinksey volunteers, without whom we couldn't have run the event!
Eight Hinksey athletes competed at BRIC on 9th December, with four top 10 finishes.
Our supporters helped us raise a fantastic £16,716 over seven days from November 28th - December 5th as part of the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2017.

Twenty Hinksey crews competed at Reading Small Boats Head on Saturday 7th October, kicking off the 2017/18 racing season.
Row Up the River took place on Saturday 8th July, with forty Hinksey athletes rowing from Wallingford to Godstow in a day to raise money for their club!
Bewdley Regatta took place on the River Severn on Saturday 22nd July.
The Junior British Rowing Championships took place on 14th - 16th July at the Holme Pierrepont Watersports Centre in Nottingham, with good racing all round and a bronze medal in the J14 2x event!
Egham Regatta took place in Egham on Saturday 25th June on an 800m course.
Henley Royal Qualifiers took place on Friday 23rd June, with four Hinksey crews entered from the senior squads.
Henley Women's Regatta took place from 16th-18th June with three Hinksey crews entered.
Marlow Regatta took place on Saturday 17th June at Dorney Lake, with four crews entered from the J15 and senior squads.
The Hinksey-run Blenheim Palace Junior Regatta took place on Saturday 10th June, with considerable help from our fantastic team of volunteers!
National Schools' Regatta took place on 26th - 28th June at Dorney Lake with fantastic racing from all crews, a 4th place in the 1st 4+ A final and a silver medal in the WJ16 2nd 4x event.
