Four Hinksey crews entered the qualifying races for Henley Royal Regatta, which take the form of a time trial the Friday before the Regatta starts. Qualifying races took place on Friday 23rd June this year in Henley-on-Thames.

The boys 4+, which raced at National Schools' Regatta, was the first crew to time trial. Aiming to beat nine other crews, they were racing for three places in the next round. They finished as third-fastest non-qualifiers, just six seconds behind the fastest non-qualifiers.

The two girls quads raced next in a field of forty-three, competing for eight places in the next round. The girls A quad finished seventeen seconds behind the fastest non-qualifier, whilst the girls B quad finished just under a minute later.

The time trial for the boys quad was our final race, in which the crew raced against forty-seven other crews for fourteen places in the next round. Their result placed them thirty-two seconds behind the fastest non-qualifier.

Each crew came off the water satisfied with the way they had rowed and feeling a little more familiar with the Henley course, ready to take it on again next year!
