On Saturday 9th December eight Hinksey Athletes competed at the British Rowing Indoor Championships in various events, coming away with four top 10 finishes.

First up was Rafe Stanford-Meisl racing in the Sixth Form Boys 2000m race. Rafe achieved his goal of getting a personal best time of 6:49.3, placing him 21st out of 63 competitors.

Next up were Archie Licudi and Fred Trott in the Year 11 Boys 500m race, placing 8th and 12th respectively.

Mae Willoughby, representing the Hinksey girls, did well to place 10th in the Year 11 Girls 500m race.

To finish off the individual events Hugo Binnian and Andrew Clark raced in the Sixth Form Boys 500m race placing 9th and 14th.

Hugo and Andrew were then joined by William Wakefield and Stanley Cannons to race in the Junior Boys 8 minute relay. The team had been practising quick changes which helped them to place 7th in a very competitive event.

Congratulations to all who raced and well done on achieving your goals. All of our athletes are now busy preparing for the Hinksey-run South of England Indoor Rowing Championships, where all Hinksey athletes will race in early February.
