Upper Thames Autumn Head on Sunday 30th October gave the Hinksey athletes a chance to experience rowing on the renowned course at Henley, home to Henley Women's Regatta and Henley Royal Regatta. Many of the athletes, with crews from the J14, J15, J16, J17 and J18 squads, raced twice over the 3000m race course.

The race provided an especially good opportunity for the athletes racing at Fours Head on the 12th November - two coxless quads and two coxed fours - giving them a practice run over a course just under half the distance that they will be racing in London on Sunday.

Particular congratulations to the senior boys coxless quad - Stanley Cannons, Hugo Binnian, Andrew Clark and Joe Elwig - who achieved a dominant win in the IM3 category, with a margin of almost 12 seconds over the crew in second place from Tideway Scullers.

Full results from Upper Thames can be found here.

Hope to see some of the athletes on the same course competing in side-by-side races this summer!
