Egham Regatta 2018

Twenty-two Hinksey crews raced at Egham International Regatta on Sunday 1st July: a sunny day with clear and calm conditions (plus some boat wash), all crews raced hard and performed well in their events. 

Three of our crews finished in first place and three in second place in their categories across the three divisions. The J18 Boys doubles had an all Hinksey final with the two crews rowing stroke for stroke for the line with Draw Clark and Rafe Standford-Meisl coming out on top. The J14 Girls Single final was another all Hinksey affair with Bea Ferry managing to claim top spot over Bea Myers. The J14 Girls squad had a strong day winning the B quad event as well with a crew of Annaliese Bischoff, Alice Godley, Alice Purvor, Alice Channon and Bea Ferry. It was great to see many of the J13s who had their first race at Blenheim keen to race again and win a round or two at Egham. We also had four J15’s race their first ever race, a great experience had by all. 

We have one away race left for this season – the British Rowing Junior Championships (20th – 22nd July).
