Avon County Spring Head

On Saturday 25th February, many raced over the 1500m and 3250m stretches of the Avon. 40 athletes competed in 20 boats to win 6 events. Winning crews were as follows:
J17 4x: Stanley Cannons, Will Sheel, Will Wakefield and Hugo Binnian.
WJ15 4x+: Mae Willoughby, Dearbhla Reale-Vargas, Harriet Wilson, Jojo Blyth and Phoebe May.
J16 2x: Rafe Stanford Meisl and Andrew Clark.
WJ16 2x: Clarisse Astruc and Amelia Ledgard-Hoile.
J18 1x: Joe Elwig.
J17 1x: Stanley Cannons.
As well as winning the J16 double, Rafe and Andrew were the fastest double across all three divisions. Stanley Cannons won similar accolades being the fastest single of the day. It was a fantastic day’s racing for all and great to see the younger athletes racing after a good winter of training.
