Beginners and Learn to Row Coach - Christy Job

I learnt to row with Darwin College (Cambridge) back in 1997 and after moving to Philadelphia (USA) in 1998 I learnt to scull with Vesper Boat Club.  In 2002 I returned to the UK and sculled with Falcon for two years, Wallingford for 14 years and Marlow for eight years.  I still compete in long distance masters events and hold course records for Great Ouse and Boston Rowing Marathons.

I’ve been coaching for 19 years:  one year at St Edward’s School as J14s’ coach; five years with British Rowing as the Thames Upriver Regional Development Coach; nine years as Cheney School’s Head Coach; four terms as St Catherine’s College (Oxford) Head Coach; four years as Falcon Boat Club’s Juniors’ Head Coach; and two years as RGS High Wycombe’s Juniors’ Coach.  I joined Hinksey in spring 2026 and am excited to coach Hinksey Beginners at Hinksey Lake for the 2026-27 season!
