Tom's comments on Pangbourne
It was a great day, relatively warm and it really did not rain although it tried to.
Firstly a big thank you to Susan Allen, Paul Redgewell and Andrew Walker for all their help in getting the boats rigged and reloaded on the trailer, without their help we would never have got everybody away on time.
I have to say the day’s results worked out a lot better than I thought and we came away with quite a good haul of medals – far better than I ever thought was possible
After allowing for the medalists there are some people to watch:
- Iona Williamson who managed to visit the weeds both on the bottom of the river and the bank. When she passed me she was going like a train. A lot to work on but a great deal of spirit.
- Oli Barratt might have been a lot closer in the single if he had a clear run.
- Henry Myatt is gradually making some headway and getting better each time he goes out.
- Do not forget Sam Trinder who has had almost a year out and will take a long time to get full fitness ~ Watch this dark horse for May or June of next year.
- Molly Glenn is beginning to show her true colours – It will take time but great things are in store I am sure.
- Ben Spiro and Marco Stojanovic in their J14 2X get better and better.
- The Girls J15 has been in a state of flux with people not well and away but I am sure that there is a great deal of spirit and technique to be had for the future.
Having thought about the results overall it was a thoroughly good day for us all.
