J14 Girls Coxed Quad “B” Event and J12 Boys Coxed Quad take gold

J12 Boys Double add a silver

The weather was not the best and the morning could have been depressing but the afternoon was golden even if the weather did not comply.

The highlight was the two Gold Medals won in the Girls J14 4X+ made up of Ella Carter, Alice Koston, Francesca Eastment, Caroline Papp and coxed by Anoushka Maton and the first time effort of the Boys J12 4X+ consisting of  Jamie Carruthers, David Myatt, Iestyn James, Ben Gregoriou and coxed again by Anoushka Maton

There was also a silver Medal won by the double made up of Jamie Carruthers and David Myatt

There were also some very good efforts by Jonny Kruip in the Boys J14 1X and in the Boys J13 Double of Isaac Alabi and Kyle Williams who rowed first time together and did really well.

I was particularly pleased with the effort put in by Jemma Key and Eilish McGuckin in both their singles and Double events.  Well done there is some real promise and your time will be coming and soon.

I am sure that all those J14 girl’s in their Singles and Doubles may not think that they did very well but with a bit more practices and some more fitness they will see all their efforts turn to medals. Keep at it. Your time will come.

The day may have started out with overcast skies but ended on an excellent note.  Well done to all of you. You should be very proud of yourselves.  Everybody learned a lot and had a good time.
