After almost three months away from events Hinksey has made a storming return to the head season with a hugely successful days racing at Avon County Head.

Former Hinksey member Alice Carrington-Windo has been selected to row for Oxford in the prestigous 2013 Women's Boat Race on Sunday 24th March at 3pm in Henley.

This season so far, aside from our victories at competitions such as Hinksey run 'SEIRC' and Monmouth Head, we also had success from the Big Give Christmas Challenge raising significant money for the club.
SEIRC Success...

Hinksey had a very successful day winning 12 medals in individual events, 7 medals in the team relays and J16 William New set a new SEIRC record and PB for 2k with a time of 6:33.6. Hinksey also won the Victor Ludorum for the first time.
Flooding at the River

After the massive volume of rain we've been experiencing over the past week or so, the rivers in Oxfordshire are obviously abnormally high. This morning Amelia, Tom, Mandy and Freddie went to the river to move some boats from the bottom racks to higher ground to help protect them from reported flood water.
Former Hinksey member rowing for Oxford

Former Hinksey member Alice Carrington-Windo competed in the Oxford crew, Osiris 1, in the Fours Head of the River on Saturday. The Oxford first women’s boat was the fastest coxed four, overtook seven boats and came 16th overall (out of 200 women’s crews).

“Hinksey Sculling School – the fastest quad in Oxford” was what we read into the email entitled “Crew Rejected – Lack of opposition” in the build up to Oxford City Royal Regatta 2012. Word had clearly spread by the airwaves that we had entered and that we were fast.

This year we are delighted to announce our new Club Captain and Vice Captains. These are the 3 athletes who will act as junior leaders within the club. Our Captain of Boats is Ellie Godden, and our Vice Captains are Freddie Batho and Gemma Key.
J12 and J13 SQUAD DAY OUT

Hinksey may be famous for rowing but rowing isn’t all we do, as our J12 and J13 squad proved in September when they took a break from the boats to join together for an exciting outdoor activity day.
LEARN TO ROW WITH HINKSEY

Hinksey are opening their doors again in September 2012 to any children in Year 6, 7, 8 or 9 for a Learn to Row course.
New Head Coach Appointed for September 2012

Alasdair Stuart has been appointed new Head Coach for Hinksey, starting 1st September 2012.
Club Physio Jenny Quested

Joining our team this summer is physio Jenny Quested. Jenny, also a coach at Hinksey, has offered a physiotherapy service for the club at discounted rates for athletes.
