Hinksey Sculling School
Events that we are likely to go to between 1st Sept 2008 to Mid April 2009
Please note that these are some of the events we will go to in the coming months. Please note that the weather will play a major part in whether the events will take place or not. You will not be asked to go to all of these.
We are in the process of grading each athlete and with in the month you will be informed as to your grade
0ur objectives until Christmas 2008 by Athlete Category
Ø“A”: Wallingford LDC. Marlow LDC, British Indoor Rowing Championships, Pangbourne Junior Sculls and Wycliffe Small Boats Head and Walton
Ø“B”: Isis Sculls, Evesham Junior Head, British Indoor Rowing Championships, Pangbourne Junior Sculls and Wycliffe Small Boats Head
Ø“C”: Evesham Junior Head, Upper Thames Head, Pangbourne Junior Sculls
We will let you know closer to the time theevents for the period January to April 2009
If you receive a message that an event will take place and you are not sure whether the event is suitable or not for you to go to or not, will you please ask your coach.
We are in the process of testing the “Events” system and it should be working in the next 2 or 3 weeks you will get an instruction as to how to use the system
In the meantime here is a list of events that it is likely to be going to – weather and river conditions permitting.

• 27th Sept ’08 Wallingford Long Distance sculls “A” and some “B” A great event but it starts to get cold by this time of year
• 4th Oct ‘08 Evesham Junior Head “B” & “C” This is a must and a great place to get some experience
• 18th Oct 2008 Monkton Blue friars Small Boats Head “A”, “B” & “C”
A West Country Head
• 25th Oct 2008 Marlow Long Distance Sculls “A” and some “B” An “A” quality event
• 26th Oct 2008 Upper Thames Small boats Head “A”, “B” & “C”
A local event at Henley
• 26th Oct 2008 British Indoor Rowing Championships “A” and “B” At the NIA at Birmingham and a great event
• 1st Nov ’08 Gloucester Head of the River “A” and “B” On a canal and also river not far from Wycliffe
• 8th Nov ’08 Pangbourne Junior Sculls "A”, “B” & “C” A club favouriteand we will decamp to Pangbourne
• 22nd Nov ’08 Evesham Head “A” and “B” First time for us - Likely to be for older athletes

• 25th Jan ’09 Thames Valley Trial at Dorney Lake “A” and “B” At this time of year a really good place to go
• 31st Jan ’09 Hampton Head of the River “A” and “B” 4X+ , 4X- & Sweep fours (Maybe) only - a good event
• 1st Feb ’09 HSS Own Indoor Rowing Champs All athletes to attend
South of England Indoor Rowing Champs at
Soll Leisure site at Wheatley Park School

• 14th/15th Feb ’09 Club week end at Dorney lake “A” and “B Dorney Lake for most and beginners at Hinksey Lake
• 28th Feb/1st Mar ’09 Club week end at Dorney lake “A” and “B” Dorney Lake for most and beginners at Hinksey Lake
• 9th Mar ’09 National Junior Sculling Head “A” only The “Boat Race” for junior scullers and held at Henley
• 15th Mar ’09 EM Junior Head of the River “A” and “B” Likely to be a small boats head so could be a place to try
• 19th Apr ’09 Abingdon Head of the River “A” and “B” A local event and great fun J12 and over can go
