Getting Started
If you have arrived at this point you are probably interested in how and where you best take the first steps towards experiencing the sport of “Rowing”
Perhaps the most frequently asked question is “how old do I have to be before I can start”
The answer to this is that our sport is not age related. You can be as young – or old – as you like. However the one prerequisite is that you are able to swim 4 lengths of a 25 meter swimming pool wearing leggings and a “t” shirt at least 2 of these lengths needs to be on your back “ life-saving style” hands folded across your chest.
Having “passed” the pool session you will be awarded your 1st National Rowing qualification - the Amateur Rowing Association’s Water Safety Certificate.
You are now ready to take to the water in a single sculling boat.

The next pool session is not yet fixed please watch this space. Click on "How to Join" above for an application form, call 01865 842552 or e-mail john@hinkseysculling.org.uk to check availability.
