ARA Rules
3-3-3 JUNIORS
- A junior is a competitor who had not attained eighteen years of age before the first day of September preceding the event.
- Coxswains of junior crews must be juniors.
- J12, J13, J14, J15, J16 & J18 are competitors aged less than 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 0r 18 years on the first day of September preceding the event.
- Coxswains of junior crews are not sub-classified by age.
- No seep-oared racing may be offered at J14 or under, or at WJ15 or under.
- Juniors of each age band are termed Junior A once they win a junior qualifying event, other than Junior maiden, for the rest of their time in that age band.
- A qualifying win at J18B, J16, WJ18 or WJ16 level shall count as a novice win.
- The first qualifying J18A or Sch/J win in any one year counts for one Senior point. This does not apply to Women's J18 or W Sch/J
